Dogs are responsible for up to 99% of human rabies cases. Children between the age of 5 and 14 years are frequent victims. Travelers who will be spending a lot of time outdoors, or who work with, or are likely to come into contact with wild or domesticated animals are at the highest risk of rabies.

  • an infected animal licks your eyes, nose or mouth, or you have a wound that's licked by an infected animal

Where is rabies found?

Rabies is found worldwide, but here in the UK iS very rare, only being found in some bats. It is more common in parts of: Asia Africa Central and South America
